Surprise! Still breathing!

Wow, it really has been a while, hasn't it... I'm actually only here because I wanted to find something in the archives from my freshman year. Update: I've graduated and landed a real job supervising teenage sex offenders while pretending to still be in college, even unto living in a friend's closet in the dorm this coming school year.

Looking at my last entry, I see it's been almost a year- but not quite. Here's my new diaryland resolution: At least one entry per year. That's probably weak enought hat I can handle it at least for a bit, especially with the whole "no more homework 'til grad school" thing. Grad school: hopefully in sociolinguistics, but I don't really know yet where. I'm not good at this whole planning thing, especially since my JET plan crashed and burned, probably because I sucked in the interview.

I will close with a pointless description of my garden, which consists of two tomato plants in sheetrock buckets out by the gravel parking area behind the house containing the basement apartment in which I am currently living. I have a Prudence Purple and a Sungold Cherry, both gifts from my mom at the beginning of the summer. Pru is doing quite well- of decent size with a fair number of blossoms. Goldie, on the other hand, is FREAKING INSANE. Almost as tall as I am, sprawling and crawling all over the place, covered with little marble-sized tomatoes some of which have already ripened. (They were delicious.) Maybe I should have fed it less dried blood...

(They really do sell bags of dried blood as plant food. Nitrogen rich! The part I find most amusing/disturbing is that nowhere on the packaging is the source of the blood identified.)
